Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using Best FPL Transfers to improve your Fantasy Premier League team.

How do I find my FPL Team ID?

Your Team ID can be found in your Fantasy Premier League URL when viewing your team. Go to fantasy.premierleague.com, click on "Points" or "Pick Team", and look at the URL. Your Team ID is the number after "/entry/" — for example, in the URL fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1234567/event/1, your Team ID is 1234567.

Is this tool free to use?

Yes! Best FPL Transfers is completely free to use. We provide AI-powered transfer recommendations, captain picks, and detailed player analysis without any subscription or payment required.

How often is the data updated?

Our data is pulled directly from the official Fantasy Premier League API and is updated hourly. This includes player form, fixture difficulty ratings, injuries, and all other metrics we use in our analysis.

What is xG and xA?

xG (Expected Goals) and xA (Expected Assists) are advanced metrics that measure the quality of chances a player creates or takes. A player with high xG but low actual goals is considered "unlucky" and likely to score more soon — making them a good transfer target. We use these metrics to identify underperforming players due a points surge.

How does the scoring algorithm work?

Our AI evaluates every player using a weighted combination of factors: Form (25%), Fixture Difficulty (25%), Value/Points per Million (20%), xG/xA metrics (15%), ICT Index (10%), and Minutes played (5%). We also apply position-specific adjustments — for example, xG matters more for forwards than defenders.

What does "Roll Transfer" mean?

If our AI recommends "rolling" your transfer, it means saving your free transfer for next week is likely better than making any available move. This happens when your squad is already strong and no transfers offer significant improvement. Rolling gives you 2 free transfers next week, allowing for bigger squad changes.

Why is a player marked as "differential"?

Differential picks are players with low ownership (typically under 10%) who our AI rates highly. These players can help you gain rank quickly if they perform well, as fewer managers will have them in their squad.

Can I use this for Draft FPL?

Currently, our tool is designed for the classic Fantasy Premier League game mode. Draft mode has different rules and player availability, which we don't support yet. We may add Draft support in the future.

How accurate are the recommendations?

While no prediction system is perfect, our recommendations are based on statistically significant factors that research shows are predictive of FPL points. We combine form, fixtures, and underlying metrics like xG/xA to identify value. Always consider the recommendations alongside your own judgement and any late-breaking news.

Is my data stored or shared?

We do not store any personal data. Your Team ID is only used to fetch your squad from the official FPL API at the time you request recommendations. We do not track individual users or share any information with third parties.
